Free or mostly funded

FREE: If you’re unemployed, self-employed as a sole trader, sub-contractor, or running a small building firm (without a payroll) there’s NO CHARGE! The government will pick up the full £3489+VAT training cost.

10% FEE: Small to medium sized employers with a payroll, who have new relevant roles or wish to upskill employees, pay 10% of the training cost – the other 90% is funded by the government. So the employer pays just £349.80+VAT of the total training cost.

30% FEE: Large employers (250+), who have new relevant roles for their employees, pay 30% of the training cost – the rest is funded by the government. For this course, the employer pays £1049+VAT.

  • Hasn’t undertaken any other Skills Bootcamps in the last 12 months

What you will need for this online course

  • Windows laptop/computer (for software package installation)
  • Broadband access
  • Video access i.e. Microsoft Teams/Zoom for training and meetings with course tutor
  • Construction experience preferred but not essential.

  • Skills Bootcamp Certificate of Achievement
  • CITB Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme Certification (SSSTS)
  • A Career Progression Plan produced with a Careers Advisor
  • If relevant, guaranteed job interview with Supply Chain of Galliford Try and CITB registered employers
  • Mentor for up to six months.

How the course works

This course is delivered online with a dedicated Tutor via the Go To Webinar Platform.

You’ll meet with your tutor and co-learners live with video cameras on and can ask questions and interact, just as if you were in a classroom. All you need is a good internet connection and a quiet space.

Software required for this course (Estimating Software and Health and Safety software) will be provided free of charge throughout the course so you can complete your work.

  • Video access i.e. Microsoft Teams/Zoom for training and meetings with course tutor
  • Construction experience preferred but not essential.

  • Start date: 29.01.25
  • End date: w/c 24.03.25

How long is the online course?

  • 9 weeks remote online – 2pm – 6pm (10 minute break) Mondays and Wednesdays
  • 76 hours made up of 60 guided learning hours and 16 hours of CITB SSSTS training (F2F or online)
  • 60 hours of independent learning
