How we support you throughout your HBXL Skills Bootcamp

Not surprisingly, regional authorities don’t give away funding for fully paid-up courses hastily. For starters, they need to choose the very best training partners. So, we recognise the trust they place in the HBXL Skills Academy to provide impactful training.

Because we can only support a limited number of learners, based on the funding provided, every place matters. So, if you’ve secured your spot – congratulations! It reflects your commitment to investing in yourself and your future.

Joining an HBXL Skills Bootcamp is so much more than a few weeks of learning sessions that you attend and we deliver. It’s much more of a collaboration. And that’s because the course is…

…about real change.
New skills.
Clear direction.

And we couldn’t bring about such significant outcomes if we didn’t go all out to help you get there.

How we help support you, whatever your situation

Before the course starts

We start as we mean to go on.

  • We’ll chat with you about your current skills and knowledge to give you the best learning experience
  • It starts with an initial chat and then followed up with a more detailed discussion (Training Needs Analysis) about any support you might need. We’ll also do a short Entry Skills Scan so we know your starting point and can plan your knowledge and skills development
  • We’ll agreed your personal goals and desired outcomes
  • We’ll identify how the course fits into your career or business
  • You’ll also have an introductory chat with your lead tutor.

If you're employed in Construction

We work with you and your employer.

Action Planning Meetings

  • Identify practical ways to upskill within your current role
  • Map your progress to completion.
  • Help you apply learning back into your company

Your employer receives:

  • Updates on your learning and progress
  • Conversations focused on how your new skills add value back into the business.

This keeps everyone aligned. And ensures your learning translates into real workplace impact.

If you're self-employed in Construction

Running a business while attending a Skills Bootcamp is demanding. We understand that.

Business-focused check-ins

  • We’ll review your business needs
  • We’ll identify where to implement new skills
  • We’ll create action steps you can realistically apply.

Milestone Progress Meetings

We’ll work with you to ensure:

  • Your learning is implemented
  • Milestones are achieved on time
  • You stay eligible for full programme completion.

Practical support to help you get the most out of the course.

If you're Unemployed or Changing Careers

Your focus is job readiness. And we take that seriously.

Job-readiness coaching

With our Head of Learner Success, you’ll receive:

  • CV development support
  • Job-search strategy guidance
  • Interview preparation
  • Mock interview panels.

Monthly 1:1 Progress Meetings

We continue working with you until:

  • You achieve each of your milestones
  • You’re ready to move forward confidently.

This is employability support – not just classroom delivery.

After the course finishes

After your taught sessions finish, support doesn’t disappear. During this support period, we:

  • Continue milestone tracking
  • Maintain progress meetings
  • Ensure required outcomes are achieved.

You remain supported until you fulfil the goals set out at the start.
