What are Skills Bootcamps?

The Skills Bootcamp is a government-backed training initiative in the UK designed to help adults develop key skills in high-demand areas. The bootcamps are short, intensive, online courses that focus on practical, job-relevant skills and aim to bridge the gap between skill shortages in the workforce and job-seekers or those looking to upskill.

At the HBXL Skills Academy we welcome the initiative and are pleased to offer courses dedicated to the construction sector, where skills are needed, and smaller building firms require support to ensure a sustainable future.

The Department for Education gives selected regions around the UK funding to offer the courses. And this region is one of them! In turn, as a training provider, we put forward trainees who qualify for the funding. And HBXL handle all the paperwork for the enrolment process for you.

Skills Bootcamps are funded by the Department for Education (DfE) so they, in conjunction with the region they’re working with, set the parameters for each course type.

If you’re self-employed or a sole trader/owner of a small business that doesn’t have a payroll it’s FREE: The government will pick up the full £3672+VAT training cost

If you’re an SME Limited company with a payroll there’s a 10% FEE: Your employer pays just £367+VAT of the total training cost

Larger companies with 250+ employees pay a 30% FEE: Your employer pays £1101+VAT
